Haha - at least they're not blue balls :)

There was a new prostitution law in 2017 that made it illegal to advertise bare sex too.
The new law prohibits flat-rate brothels and gang-bang parties, in which a sex worker must service several men concurrently. Also, sex without a condom is prohibited. Furthermore, clients who knowingly make use of the services provided by people who have been forced into prostitution will be penalized.

Anyone have advice for how to politely bring up this sort of question to a local (i.e. what's the appropriate context) when you're already in the country, walking around like an idiot with one of those translation phrasebook in hand?

I'm picturing: go to an expat bar, find a dude who looks like he poons, and offer to buy him a drink if you can ask him some questions about navigating the local nightlife.

Or maybe: find an old/experienced local streetwalker who's bilingual, and offer her some small money for some language advice.

BBFS isn't the only thing I want to know local slang for, so a general strategy would be really helpful.

Finding an ex-pat bar might be a good idea - especially if you're in a country you're unfamiliar with.

A few years ago I used Seeking Arrangement to find someone local, basically, go out for drinks and dinner (and whatever else) and they can show you around a bit. Yes, you have to be a bit careful (there's always the possibility that you could get taken advantage of), but probably better than just roaming around a strange city on your own :)

Korean:

노콘 - "NOKON" or "No Condom". That's their slang for BBFS.
